11.4.2025 GOOD BYE, SWEET OLU...
Olu was a gentle dog with the most good-natured character you can imagine.
He was a keeper from the litter of 9 pups by our amazing Jazz od Smutne ricky wih big hopes for a show dog. But his lifelong trouble with movement completely changed my attitude towards many things. Despite his issues with rear he loved to run above anything in the world.
Olu went over the rainbow bridge unexpectedly on Friday morning at home in his bed. And so the Braque d’Auvergne chapter in our house has come to an end.
Rest in peace, darling boy...

Our black portuguese princess finally arrived! Thank you Marta Flores for everything you have done for and with this amazing litter. Waiting for this combination was long but it turns out every year of waiting was worth it and Mia’s name tells the story.
We are beyond words grateful to have this beautiful daughter of our Chaser and Millie with us. She is such a sweet and lovely puppy. Now lets see what the future has for us and Mia, who had her debute here at EDS in Brno as BOB MINOR PUPPY & EUROPEAN HOPE.

We didn’t see it coming until it was too late...
Everything she did, she did with her whole being. Above all she was the most amazing mother to her puppies, friendly to every human she met and undoubtedly the smartest and quickest Basset that has ever lived by us.
Her list of titles is long and during her life she gave birth to 3 lovely litters - our most significant litter „D2“ among them. Her legacy in our breeding is eminent and she deserved a few more peaceful years with us...

8.5.2024 PUPPIES SIRED BY OUR BOYS IN FRANCE
In France a litter from artifitial insemination by chilled semen (by Chaser and Kevin as well) was born 1st May 2024 in kennel Le Domaine de l'Orangerie (breeder: Eric Baratin, eric.baratin@icloud.com).
Tests of paternity will later show which puppy has which father. Even though Kevin is not a young stud, his semen is still suitable for chilling and so we are curious how the test will end up.

100 dogs were entered on Saturday (42 were Basset Hounds) and 81 on Sunday (34 Basset Hounds).

Crufts! The most traditional and prestigeus dog show not only in UK but also for most of the FCI breeders. There were over 150 Basset Hounds entered from all around Europe. For the very first time we shew at this show our Ynes Bohemia Horrido in 2011, nine years lated also her grand-grandson Dream Chaser. Chaser was eventually not placed in a class of much older and developed males but we are trully satisfied with his presentation and his breed type representing agile basset with strong bone and firm body.

Emička gave birth to 9 lovely puppies (1 tricolour boy, 3 tricolour girls, 3 red and white boys and 2 red and white girls).
Sire of the litter is Ch. Beauchasseur Biscotti - a male imported from Australia to Germany. Biscotti is a combination of famous US Top's Field Basset Hounds and successful australian Basset Hounds - Beauchasseur.

Chaser became winner of junior class at european dog show out of 11 males from many european countries entered to junior class, became European Junior Winner 2019 and got his qualification for Crufts 2020!
Later he was also Best of junior, when the judge Hana Ahrens picked him up over female junior winner out of 16 bitches enteries. We appreciate these results very much.
Chase was also life streamed by P1 produkce during the finals.

"Chasík" at the age of 13 months absolutely rocked during the club shows. Just like our Calvin Klein 5 years ago won Best in show junior both days and also the main prize of the show weekend - one week of holiday in Croatia for 2 people. Chase also was chosen BOB out of 27 BHs and Best In Show winner on Sunday and he is now fully qualified for the title Czech Junior Champion! Thank you to the judges for these results, we appreciate them very much.
Delta had her show premier and by winning twice her junior class she made huge step towards getting her Junior Champion title as well.

Time flies! Our "little" half-americans celebrated 1 year, Calvin Klein celebrated 6 years and at the end of April our Bollinger (a boy we kept at home from our last litter of Braque d'Auvergne) turned 6 years as well. The birthday party was connected to the meeting of seniors out of our "Y" litter.

"Chaser" had an amazing start of his jurney towards Czech Junior Champion title. The judge Guido Schäfer picked him up as the BOB winner out of 10 entries in the breed, later Chaser was also chosen as Junior Best in Group VI winner under MVDr. František Šimek!

Let us properly introduce you the keeper from our D2 litter - Dream Chaser Bohemia Horrido
(US GPCh. By U Cal’s Monkey on the Bayou & resWW, GCh. Bassetterre Zara Sophie)
Here is another addition of our kennel - What Woman Want VM "Linda".
Linda is a sister to Vanilla (Wanali Bohemia Horrido, bred by M.Vanali - Italy), who came to our home from Italy in autumn 2017. Unfortunately Vanilla started to be shy toward strange people during her young age. Even she had great exterior qualities, which confirm her superb results at our club show, we decided not to show her or use her in our breeding and after a long decision due to her very young age also find her a new home. We will be forever greateful for the great new family she has got and we wish them the best of luck ;)
Linda is therefore daughter of World Winner from Leipzig 2017, male living and bred by Susanna Deoti in Italy - Rosso il Rubacuori and a daughter of European Winner from Brno 2014 Y'Alpheratz dos Sete Moinhos. Linda was firstly sold to a new family as a pet, but within a few weeks she was returned to her breeder and started to flourish into a beautiful elegant basset girl of angulation to die for, long ribcage, freak temperament and last but not least absolutely friendly character towards everyone.
Many thanks to Linda's breeder - Marco Vanalli for his trust in us with this black sweet "devil".

The Veteran World Winner 2017 C.I.B. and C.I.E. Ynes Bohemia Horrido won the veteran with entry by 5 nice females from Germany, England and Sweden, judged by Mr.P.Harsanyi from Hungary. She finnished her show career, which -among other- includes excellent plaments on world shows in Bratislava (Best Puppy 2009), Paris and Salzburg.
Her grandchild Ch.Bassetterre Zara Sophie, our Ema, won in working class over two females from Germany and Italy, earned title VDH-CAC, and in the final the dutch judge Mr.J.Wauben awarded her reserve CACIB - she became second best female in the breed!
Our World Veteran Winner is also dam of European Winner 2016 from Brussel, C.I.B. and C.I.E. Calvin Klein Bohemia Horrido, who was "excellent" in champion class in strong pompetition of 21 males. Alltogether there were 140 entries in the breed and there were 2 show rings.

On top of all, day before Czech Republic won its candidature for WDS 2021! Our Eva is author of the logo for the WDS in 2021 and so we are even more happy for that priviledge for our country.
Until late evening we baked 200 muffins with logo on a flag and brough some into the stand of ČMKU in Leipzig.
WDS is coming back to Czech republic after 31 years!

Last week we went to check on Kevin's latest litter in Zdar nad Sazavou in kennel z Hlubocke Hajovny (breeder: Jan Kesner) by dam Kami z Hlubocké Hájovny.
The babies are again adorable with thier lovely outline, nice clean and healthy eyes, correct bites...

On Sunday 12th March 2017 four puppies sired by Kevin were born in kennel od Bouňské studánky - one boy and three girls all tricolour colour.
Afra came for mating with Kevin in age of 7 years, after she wasn't able to get pregnant with other males and on her last chance Kevin did a miracle!

9/2016 - Visit from Denmark
In September we enjoyed visit from Denmark. Our old friends Anne-Therese and René came with their 4 Bassets to celebrate 25th universary of our friendship. It is exactly 25 years ago, when they came for their first time to our home, and brough us a puppy female "Tanja" - Benoit´s Twyla Tanyana. Tanja has her place in pedigrees of our Bassets.
We have had nice time together, enjoying our fire place and making several nice trips close to our home and as well as far away trip to south Moravia.
September 1991, Závidkovice, Czechoslowakia - Anne-Therese and René with their puppy female Benoit´s Twyla Tanyana, one of foundation female of our Bohemia Horrido kennel.
The first day we had "Welcome Party" with family of Jana and Karel Cap in our home. They also share our friendship with these nice people from Denmark. Since the time they met each other for their first time several years gone, and during that time "The Stork sqaudron" (Čáp=Stork) is much bigger - sons Ondra, Adam and Martin made us nice companion.
By the river Sázava, in a place Stvořidla. Anne-Therese, René, Iva and Bassets: from left Evička (Eva Bohemia Gorgony), senior Benoit´s Diego, senior Benoit´s Manola, Captain Jack Bohemia Horrido - Welcome home, Captain! - then our Emička (Basseterre Zara Sopia) and Kevin (Calvin Klein Bohemia Horrido). So hot weather in September!!
Nice appointment in the front of castle Lednice na Moravě: Lady Ivana Holásková, the Chatelaine, Iva and Kevin. Lady Ivana owned Basset Hound called Brit in time Iva studied at the university, so she never miss an oportunity to hug a Basset! Due to hot weather we could not bring all our Bassets with us, so we brought her just one of our Bassets, Kevin. Lady Ivana, the Chatelaine, organised an exclusive nice tour in the castle interieur for our dannish friends in english language.

Emma and Eva entered hunting exam in seeking for living game. It is quite new exam for hounds here in our coutry, organised by our Hound Club in place Lavičky-Orlík. Our girls made it with excellent result - I.price and CACT. It was a premiere for both of them - and now Emma is the first Basset Hound ever, who gained CACT on such kind of hunting exam. Big thank to judges Mr.V.Herian, Mr.K.Kapoun and main judge Mr.P.Stangl.

We are extremely happy, that we achieved this. It is the biggest success of our showing at international level since our registered breeding in 1992. We thank to the judge Mr. J.P.Achtergael from Belgium and all breeders, whose lines we have had opportunity to use in our breeding programme. Calvin Klein Bohemia Horrido, called Kevin, is the 6th generation of our breeding. He is a son of Ch.Ynes Bohemia Horrido, hence a grandson of Ch.Velvet Bohemia Horrido (2003-2011) and grand-grand-grandson of our first Champion ever, Atilla Bohemia Horrido (1992-2001). Atilla was at the beginning - on the world dog show in Bern, Switzerland, 1994, he won 1st place in working class over several dogs from "The West".
We remember a moment 20 years ago, when another Champion, Dino Bohemia Horrido(1994-2003) suceeded at the world dog show in Budapest, Hungary, by placing 2nd in open class. We also remember 2nd place in working class of our Ch. Victoria Bohemia Horrido (2003-2014) at the world dog show in Poznan, Poland, in 2006. Looks like numer 6 in era is sign of luck for us. A special thank to daughter Eva, who handles our dogs now so brilliant - we can be both proud breeders and parents.

Emička gave birth to 9 lovely puppies (1 tricolour boy, 3 tricolour girls, 3 red and white boys and 2 red and white girls). Sire of the litter is Ch. Beauchasseur Biscotti - a male imported from Australia to Germany. Biscotti is a combination of famous US Top's Field Basset Hounds and successful australian Basset Hounds - Beauchasseur.

Chaser became winner of junior class at european dog show out of 11 males from many european countries entered to junior class, became European Junior Winner 2019 and got his qualification for Crufts 2020!
Later he was also Best of junior, when the judge Hana Ahrens picked him up over female junior winner out of 16 bitches enteries. We appreciate these results very much.
Chase was also life streamed by P1 produkce during the finals. You can see the video here.

"Chasík" at the age of 13 months absolutely rocked during the club shows. Just like our Calvin Klein 5 years ago won Best in show junior both days and also the main prize of the show weekend - one week of holiday in Croatia for 2 people. Chase also was chosen BOB out of 27 BHs and Best In Show winner on Sunday and he is now fully qualified for the title Czech Junior Champion! Thank you to the judges for these results, we appreciate them very much.
Delta had her show premier and by winning twice her junior class she made huge step towards getting her Junior Champion title as well.

Time flies! Our "little" half-americans celebrated 1 year, Calvin Klein celebrated 6 years and at the end of April our Bollinger (a boy we kept at home from our last litter of Braque d'Auvergne) turned 6 years as well. The birthday party was connected to the meeting of seniors out of our "Y" litter.
Thank you to all owners of our puppies for your care and love for our babies and special one to the owners of our "Y" seniors for coming to see us!

Let us properly introduce you the keeper from our D2 litter - Dream Chaser Bohemia Horrido
(US GPCh. By U Cal’s Monkey on the Bayou & resWW, GCh. Bassetterre Zara Sophie)
Here is another addition of our kennel - What Woman Want VM "Linda".
Linda is a sister to Vanilla (Wanali Bohemia Horrido, bred by M.Vanali - Italy), who came to our home from Italy in autumn 2017. Unfortunately Vanilla started to be shy toward strange people during her young age. Even she had great exterior qualities, which confirm her superb results at our club show, we decided not to show her or use her in our breeding and after a long decision due to her very young age also find her a new home. We will be forever greateful for the great new family she has got and we wish them the best of luck ;)
Linda is therefore daughter of World Winner from Leipzig 2017, male living and bred by Susanna Deoti in Italy - Rosso il Rubacuori and a daughter of European Winner from Brno 2014 Y'Alpheratz dos Sete Moinhos. Linda was firstly sold to a new family as a pet, but within a few weeks she was returned to her breeder and started to flourish into a beautiful elegant basset girl of angulation to die for, long ribcage, freak temperament and last but not least absolutely friendly character towards everyone.
Many thanks to Linda's breeder - Marco Vanalli for his trust in us with this black sweet "devil".

The Veteran World Winner 2017 C.I.B. and C.I.E. Ynes Bohemia Horrido won the veteran with entry by 5 nice females from Germany, England and Sweden, judged by Mr.P.Harsanyi from Hungary. She finnished her show career, which -among other- includes excellent plaments on world shows in Bratislava (Best Puppy 2009), Paris and Salzburg.
Her grandchild Ch.Bassetterre Zara Sophie, our Ema, won in working class over two females from Germany and Italy, earned title VDH-CAC, and in the final the dutch judge Mr.J.Wauben awarded her reserve CACIB - she became second best female in the breed!
Our World Veteran Winner is also dam of European Winner 2016 from Brussel, C.I.B. and C.I.E. Calvin Klein Bohemia Horrido, who was "excellent" in champion class in strong pompetition of 21 males. Alltogether there were 140 entries in the breed and there were 2 show rings.

On top of all, day before Czech Republic won its candidature for WDS 2021! Our Eva is author of the logo for the WDS in 2021 and so we are even more happy for that priviledge for our country. Until late evening we baked 200 muffins with logo on a flag and brough some into the stand of ČMKU in Leipzig. WDS is coming back to Czech republic after 31 years!

The babies are again adorable with thier lovely outline, nice clean and healthy eyes, correct bites...

9/2016 - Visit from Denmark
In September we enjoyed visit from Denmark. Our old friends Anne-Therese and René came with their 4 Bassets to celebrate 25th universary of our friendship. It is exactly 25 years ago, when they came for their first time to our home, and brough us a puppy female "Tanja" - Benoit´s Twyla Tanyana. Tanja has her place in pedigrees of our Bassets. We have had nice time together, enjoying our fire place and making several nice trips close to our home and as well as far away trip to south Moravia.
September 1991, Závidkovice, Czechoslowakia - Anne-Therese and René with their puppy female Benoit´s Twyla Tanyana, one of foundation female of our Bohemia Horrido kennel.
The first day we had "Welcome Party" with family of Jana and Karel Cap in our home. They also share our friendship with these nice people from Denmark. Since the time they met each other for their first time several years gone, and during that time "The Stork sqaudron" (Čáp=Stork) is much bigger - sons Ondra, Adam and Martin made us nice companion.

Anne-Therese, René, Iva and Bassets: from left Evička (Eva Bohemia Gorgony), senior Benoit´s Diego, senior Benoit´s Manola, Captain Jack Bohemia Horrido - Welcome home, Captain! - then our Emička (Basseterre Zara Sopia) and Kevin (Calvin Klein Bohemia Horrido). So hot weather in September!!
Nice appointment in the front of castle Lednice na Moravě: Lady Ivana Holásková, the Chatelaine, Iva and Kevin. Lady Ivana owned Basset Hound called Brit in time Iva studied at the university, so she never miss an oportunity to hug a Basset! Due to hot weather we could not bring all our Bassets with us, so we brought her just one of our Bassets, Kevin. Lady Ivana, the Chatelaine, organised an exclusive nice tour in the castle interieur for our dannish friends in english language.

Emma and Eva entered hunting exam in seeking for living game. It is quite new exam for hounds here in our coutry, organised by our Hound Club in place Lavičky-Orlík. Our girls made it with excellent result - I.price and CACT. It was a premiere for both of them - and now Emma is the first Basset Hound ever, who gained CACT on such kind of hunting exam. Big thank to judges Mr.V.Herian, Mr.K.Kapoun and main judge Mr.P.Stangl.

We are extremely happy, that we achieved this. It is the biggest success of our showing at international level since our registered breeding in 1992. We thank to the judge Mr. J.P.Achtergael from Belgium and all breeders, whose lines we have had opportunity to use in our breeding programme. Calvin Klein Bohemia Horrido, called Kevin, is the 6th generation of our breeding. He is a son of Ch.Ynes Bohemia Horrido, hence a grandson of Ch.Velvet Bohemia Horrido (2003-2011) and grand-grand-grandson of our first Champion ever, Atilla Bohemia Horrido (1992-2001). Atilla was at the beginning - on the world dog show in Bern, Switzerland, 1994, he won 1st place in working class over several dogs from "The West".
We remember a moment 20 years ago, when another Champion, Dino Bohemia Horrido(1994-2003) suceeded at the world dog show in Budapest, Hungary, by placing 2nd in open class. We also remember 2nd place in working class of our Ch. Victoria Bohemia Horrido (2003-2014) at the world dog show in Poznan, Poland, in 2006. Looks like numer 6 in era is sign of luck for us. A special thank to daughter Eva, who handles our dogs now so brilliant - we can be both proud breeders and parents.

Visit from Australia
In August we had nice visit from Australia. Owners of our Cappy (Al Capone Bohemia Horrido) stopped in Prague during their tour in Europe, and we spent nice time together, full of beautifull trips.
